Content of research: 

Interested in the relationship between tourism, culture and creativity, and how these affect the development of places. We have developed case studies of cities and regions in Europe that have used creative development strategies to put themselves on the global map, and we are interested in developing comparative studies in other parts of the world. The main aim is to assess the transferability of creative development concepts to different physical and cultural contexts.

Innovation & Potential Applications:

The main innovation is to take a structured approach to the assessment of creative development 

strategies.

Anticipated Achievement:

The development of a structured model of creative development, and the creation of assessment tools. The results will be published in international refereed journals, including Annals of Tourism Research,  Tourism Management and Urban Studies.
